ABOUT CHARLIE BLISS

Capturing the special moments in the Northern Territory

Photography. It’s the first thing I think about in the morning, and the last thing I think about at night. I eat, breathe and sleep it. It’s what I was born to do, and it makes my heart sing. I love being around positive people who share the love about what they do and respect the world around them. It’s infectious; you can see the glint in their eye when they talk. That’s me when it comes to my craft.

Coffee helps though. And chocolate. Lots of chocolate.

Where it all began.

When I was 20 years old, travelling the world with my then girlfriend (now my wife), I took a photo of a monk on a boat, with the sun setting behind him. I  was stoked with my immense photographic skill and creativity and thought it was going to make the best photo on the entire planet, until I got the photos developed and realised: it sucked.

But it was the start of my life’s passion, and from then I always strived to reverse engineer every shot; why it worked, what didn’t work, and how it could be done better. Until now, some 20 years later, I have the pleasure and fortune to do what I love all day, every day.

Who we are today.

Today we shoot stills and video for large clients like Power & Water and the Australian Government, to portraits of families and products. Even though I’m based in Darwin, I’ve covered just about every corner of the Northern Territory through my photography and videography. Every job is different and I’m fortunate enough to work with incredible clients on interesting projects day in, day out. And that’s why I love what I do.

Looking forward to the journey.

Having worked in more than 10 countries shooting countless locations and people, Darwin is now home. It’s such a melting pot of energy and vibrance, with people from all over Australia and the world who have one thing in common: a love for Darwin’s lifestyle.
